How to Bend a Perspex Sheet at Home Using a Hairdryer

Bending a Perspex (acrylic) sheet at home doesn’t have to be complicated. If you don’t have a heat gun, a regular hairdryer can do the trick for small or light bends. Here’s how you can do it easily:

What You’ll Need:

• Perspex sheet

• Hairdryer

• Ruler and pencil (for marking)

• Gloves (for safety)

• A wooden board or heat-resistant surface

Steps:

1. Mark the Bend Line
   Use a ruler and pencil to draw a clear line on the Perspex where you want to bend it.

2. Heat the Perspex
   Turn your hairdryer to its highest heat setting. Hold it a few centimeters above the bend line and move it slowly back and forth. Be patient — it may take a few minutes for the Perspex to soften.

3. Bend the Sheet
   Once the plastic becomes soft and flexible, gently bend it to your desired angle. Use gloves to avoid burning your hands.

4. Hold and Cool
   Hold the sheet in place until it cools and hardens, or set it against a support to keep the shape.

Tips:

• Only try this on thinner sheets — thick Perspex may need a stronger heat source.
